Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Haul Delaware ("we," "us," "our") connects customers with independent local contractors for moving, garage cleanout, and junk pickup work. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Contact info: name, email, phone number, service address.
- Job details: what you need hauled or moved, photos you upload, timing, and notes.
- Account info (contractors): business name, service area, vehicle and crew details, payout info.
- Communications: messages, support requests, and reviews exchanged through our platform.
- Usage data: device, browser, IP address, pages visited, and basic analytics.
2. How we use it
- To match customers with contractors and complete the booking.
- To send confirmations, scheduling updates, receipts, and support replies.
- To verify identity, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms.
- To improve the service through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
3. What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not rent or trade your data to advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not share your information beyond what's needed to complete a job or comply with the law.
4. Who we share with
- The contractor or customer on your job — we share the name, contact info, address, and job description needed to do the work.
- Service providers we rely on to run the platform (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics). These vendors are bound to use your data only to provide their services to us.
- Legal and safety — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
5. Data storage and retention
Your information is stored for our internal records. We keep job, account, and transaction records for as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Marketing contact preferences are honored within a reasonable time after you opt out.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as required by law.
7. Your choices
- Access or delete: email hi@hauldelaware.com to request a copy of your data or to have your account information deleted (subject to records we're required to keep).
- Unsubscribe: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Transactional messages (booking, payment, support) will still come through.
- SMS: reply STOP to opt out of text messages.
- Cookies: you can clear or block cookies through your browser; some features may not work without them.
8. Messaging & SMS
Haul Delaware uses text messages (SMS) to operate the service. By providing your mobile number — when you book a pickup, apply to run crews, or sign in — you consent to receive SMS from us related to your account and jobs.
- What we send: one-time verification codes (crew sign-in), job alerts and dispatch offers to contractors, booking and scheduling updates, quote and payment notifications, and support replies.
- Frequency: message frequency varies based on your activity on the platform.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any text to unsubscribe at any time. You'll get one confirmation message and then no further texts, except where a code is required to complete a sign-in you initiate.
- Help: reply HELP for assistance, or email hi@hauldelaware.com.
- Carriers: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Phone numbers are used only to provide the Haul Delaware service through our messaging provider.
9. Children
Haul Delaware is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use of Haul Delaware after a change means you accept the updated policy.
